Since 2004 Kiyohisa Hirano has been a senior member of Daiwa Securities Group's investment banking division where he advised companies on their financial, IPO and M&A strategies. Prior to that, for 17 years as a securities analyst, he led an equity research team that focused on small-growth, emerging companies. Mr. Hirano was consistently ranked highly in various analyst rankings for over 10 years. He received his BS from Chuo University, and is a member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

Ash Roy joined DQC in April 2009. He was previously a partner at Sycamore Ventures, a PE fund managing $320m focused in the US and in China; he co-founded, raised capital for and managed indiaSTAR, a $100m India fund along with Sycamore. Prior to that Ash was Corporate Vice President at Intelligroup, a US/India based $180m revenue IT services company that he helped build through acquisitions. Ash started his career as a technology M&A banker in New York. Ash graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology and received his MBA from the Wharton School.

Prior to joining DQC in April 2009, Rex Wang was a core member of the China investment team at the Principal Investment group of Daiwa Securities that he joined in 2007. He previously worked with CLSA Capital Partners, A.T. Kearney and Toyota Motor Corporation. Rex has a BS in Engineering from the National Taiwan University, MA in Economics from Nagoya University. He received his MBA at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

Prior to joining DQC in July 2010, Yuriya Komatsu was with Olympus Capital, where she focused on deal origination and portfolio management of companies mainly in food-services industry. Before joining Olympus she spent four years at an independent consulting firm advising clients on growth strategies and M&A. Previously, for more than 10 years, she worked with various asset management companies in Tokyo and NY, including pension funds, mutual funds and hedge funds focused on growth investments in Japan and Asia. Ms. Komatsu received her degree in BE from Waseda University and received an MBA from NYU. She is a registered Chartered Financial Analyst.

Prior to joining DQC, Takayuki Kohara spent two-years monitoring large portfolio investments made by the Principal Investment group of Daiwa Securities. Previously he was a member of the due-diligence team at Funai, a leading Japanese consulting firm and participated in investment analysis and post-investment strategy for regional private equity funds. Takayuki received his BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He holds CPA (US).

Prior to joining DQC, Norio Teratani was the head of principal investments advisory dept. of Daiwa Securities SMBC Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was in underwriting business such as Samurai Bonds, Asian Dollar Bonds, Equity issues in Chinese Governmental Agencies and private companies.
